Being told by someone as a way of affirming relationship security, “I will love you forever” doesn’t feel good to me, in fact, it creates a sense of anxiousness, I’ve been promised this in that past and I’ve made the same promise, but, “I will love you forever” didn’t sustain the “perception” “expectations” or “attachment” to what LOVING YOU FOREVER, really means, it instead created a sense of it not being true and a lot of pain when LOVING YOU FOREVER, felt like an END as our paths shifted into different directions.
Ask 10 people randomly in your physical world what it means to them to be told “I WILL LOVE YOU FOREVER” you will most likely receive 10 different answers with remarkable differences..

I will start, “I will love you forever” holds an emotional charge of fear (“oh, ok, what you are really saying, is that at some point, our relationship will part ways too..”) no matter how much I try to convince myself of the higher knowledge of “I will love you forever” love being the fiber we are made of and the illusion of separation, my early childhood experiences override the headspace truth… I would prefer being told “I love you” over “I will love you forever” because “I love you” feels a safe.. I understand loving without having to be present or an active part of someone’s life..
The word LOVE often times holds attachments and expectations, instead of LOVE, just IS…
